We joined Microsoft Inspire in Las Vegas
The slogan “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” is quite famous, and many people who visited the city back in the 20thcentury might confirm that there truly was a Sin City in the middle of the desert. But as you crisscross the Las Vegas Strip and visit all the casinos, you will realize that the image has changed and today’s Las Vegas has become a city of entertainment, where families go on vacation and companies meet to do business.
That might be the reason why Microsoft moved its annual partner conference, Inspire, from Washington, D.C. to Las Vegas and already confirmed its return to the city in 2019. Inspire is the meeting place for Microsoft’s partner community, where partners learn about Microsoft’s roadmap for the coming year. It’s a great place to network and build connections, share best practices, experience new products, and learn new techniques for expanding the Microsoft business.
Holo-Light took part in Inspire for the first time this year and can absolutely confirm that it is the global meeting place for the Microsoft partner community. At Inspire, you network and share your experiences with Microsoft and your customers with others. You’ll find everything related to Office 365, Windows, Dynamics, Azure, and much more and have the chance to talk to many Microsoft partners and associates.
Impressions from the conference
The event is massive, and the large amount of talks, panel discussions, and key notes makes it difficult to structure your day and find the best sessions for your individual needs. On the one hand, this could be perfect for anyone who wants to dive deeply into this world. On the other hand, it may be disappointing for anyone who wants to do more than just scratch the surface.
And what about Mixed Reality (MR)? Although Microsoft pushes new topics like MR, at Inspire this technology didn’t get the attention it deserves. This will probably change over the next few years but also shows that general business comes first and innovation second.
Mixed Reality Partner Program (MRPP) – MRPP Summit
In addition to Inspire, we also participated in the second official Mixed Reality Partner Program (MRPP) Summit. This was the perfect opportunity to meet other global partners and the people managing everything related to HoloLens and Windows Mixed Reality. From what we saw at the summit, we can guarantee that Microsoft has big plans for MR in the future.
It’s incredible to see how the market is already evolving and how many amazing use cases come up on a monthly base. It’s essential for partners to understand Microsoft’s roadmap, along with the visions of huge players in the industry, and such events offer a great opportunity to share them. We are very happy with our first MRPP Summit and appreciated the opportunity to share our challenges and ideas.
